Caution COSHH Sign

Description:  Caution COSHH signs are used to label items which are harmful and irritant. Employers must ensure that exposure to hazardous substances is prevented or adequately controlled. Caution COSHH Signs are primarily placed on vehicles and containers to indicate that a substance is an irritant or harmful to both skin and eyes. When placed on a vehicle, these signs have the ability to alert other drivers and the authorities that extra precautions may need to be taken in the event of an accident. Some examples of irritants are detergent products, solvents and mild acids.

Some examples of harmful and irritant safety precautions are:

• In the event of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
• Avoid contact with skin.
• Wash thoroughly before you drink, smoke or eat.
• Do not breathe dust, vapour or spray
