Explosive COSHH Sign

Description:  An explosive is a substance which under defined test conditions when dry or under the effect or heat may explode. Explosive COSHH signs are used to notify other road users of vehicles carrying explosive materials and could be a major hazard in the event of an accident. These signs can also be used for containers storing explosive chemicals/materials. Some examples of explosive materials are dynamite, hexanite and nitric acid.

Some examples of explosive safety precautions are:

• Store away from sources of ignition and heat
• Ensure containers are stored in a cool, well ventilated place with tight fitting lids
• Read and use instructions for given explosive material
• Ensure the material and its container are disposed of in a safe manner
